Question by Nickname: Which applications are compatible with the original first iPod Touch?
Somebody gave me the very first generation iPod Touch and I tried to put some game apps on it (Angry Birds, Doodle Jump) but it said I needed a newer version of the iPod software. I tried to update it and it said it was up to date but the apps still weren’t compatible. Only the games Oven Break and Flight Control were able to download. Does anybody know more apps that are compatible with it? Its software version is 2.2.1.

That version 2.2.1 is 2 years out of date, and so out of date itunes ignores it, you are not the only one with this problem I have answered at least 15 questions just like this one this week alone…
As of now itunes is only offering the current update version iOS 4.0.2 1st gen ipod touches are to slow to run it, so it’s not compatible with them. The latest and last update for your 1st gen ipod was 3.1.3 months ago and others are getting it from 3rd party websites such as Felixbruns and such..google for more info.

Those apps you want some require the 4.0 or 4.0.2 forget those even if you update to version 3.1.3 you can’t run those apps..BUT most apps now only require 3.0 or 3.1.x update to run them.

itunes announced about a month or so ago it’s no longer supporting apps for 2.2.1

Question by : Some off my Apps on my iPod Touch’s app store are not there like Angry Birds etc. how do i get them?
I dont have games on my app store such as tap tap revenge I have an ipod touch 4.2.1 and i dont want to upgrade to 4.2.2 or anything like that just want to know how to fix it

You should be able to add them through iTunes. All the apps you’ve downloaded are on iTunes, you just have to click them and sync them back on.
